On one hand, the location was exceptional, right in the heart of North Beach within easy reach of major attractions like the wharf, Coit Tower, and Chinatown. I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The room had a slightly strange smell when the window was open due to a nearby restaurant vent, but it was quickly fixed by closing the window.
